ZnTech™ is Ion Technologies’ proprietary yarn technology — elemental zinc embedded into polyester-based yarn during manufacturing. That yarn is woven into the BioNX™ sock, so the zinc is in the yarn itself, not applied to the finished surface. It is always active when the sock is worn. Zinc interacts with oxygen and moisture at the skin surface to create a continuous microcurrent effect — without any external power source.
