Our Foundation

Two Decades of
Bioelectric Innovation

Ion Technologies was founded on a foundation of deep, applied expertise in bioelectric medicine and skin science. Dr. Scott Sheftel and Jeff Skiba have worked together for over twenty years at the intersection of dermatology, advanced wound care, and microcurrent technology. As inventors and patent holders in the field, they have spent two decades translating the clinical science of electrical stimulation into practical, wearable material architectures. Their work spans from early hyperhidrosis applications, where microcurrent’s inhibitory effect on sweat glands was first demonstrated in patient populations, to the development of ZnTech™ and its current expressions in performance textiles and wound care dressings. The result is a platform grounded not in trend, but in tested science.
